My experience with the Celebrity Cruises was incredibly amazing! Since this was my first cruise trip ever and with all the excitement within, my experience with Celebrity Equinox was way beyond my expectations. Celebrity Cruises has been voted the Best Overall Cruise (Large Ship) by Cruise Critics Cruisers Choice Awards in the year 2015. With 16 decks, around 1400 guest rooms, 10 restaurants, 5 bars and their own theatre, it was definitely a class apart on sea. The staff here is very warm and welcoming and every need is taken care of.
We took the Mediterranean route starting from Rome, via florence, Nice, Corsica, one day at sea, 2 days in Palma De Mallorca and ended at Barcellona, Spain. Each morning we arrived to a new port where we could get off from 9am to 5pm and one day we were at sea. Each day was planned in advance for all the cities we visited as we had limited time. While on board, we came across people from different walks of life and each day had an agenda to cover..
In terms of Entertainment, their were live music shows, concert style performances and game shows were organised along with a glass blowing studio up in the lawn where they held demonstrations every evening . The cruise had its own casino, retro-chic night club for the late night crowd, an art gallery, library and many shops. The cruise also has endless options for entertainment of kids starting from providing toys for toddlers and time for parents to bond with them, a room which has facilities like the Xbox, etc.
Since we had taken up the suite, every fine dinning restaurant that we visited entitled us to a discount and the first meal on the cruise was a complementary one. We had access to a butler all day long, in room lunch and dinner service and complimentary espresso and cappuccino’s were provided. Their main dinning restaurant- Silhouette, located on the 4th deck had a special tour to their kitchen organised for their guests on board, showing us how they prepare so many meals each day for all guests and the staff.
In terms of Food, there is definitely no way one can go hungry! There are a variety of restaurants from the Oceanview Cafe serving a multi-cuisine buffet to fine dining. Food at the Ocean Cafe was included in our package whereas food from the fine dining restaurants cost extra($45 per person). Speciality restaurants i visited were The Tuscan Grille (Steak), Silk Harvest (Asian), Blu and Murano.
If you are a family and planning a cruise then Celebrity Equinox is definitely the ideal choice to enjoy luxury on water!
P.S.- DON’T forget your Sea Pass! It acts like your ID, Room Key and any food and beverage to be purchased on board is through this card.
